| | beating my head against a desk | ] | My mom just asked if I would racer her in seeing how much weight she could lose. She said she needs to change something that she had control over and in looking at her life she said right now, this is it.
So I said sure. She is going to see if dad wants to play as well, but right now its just the two of us and we are putting up $25 a person to have a prize. We are going to start on Wednesday July 8th and end on August 28th. The only rule is you have to keep a food journal so if you are not getting to where you want to be you can see where you are slipping up.
I think this is the first contest I sincerely hope I lose. |

| Company Picnics |
[Jun. 26th, 2009|02:32 pm] |
Today is the 4 year anniversary of the company becoming a part of the CEVA Group so its mandatory fun day. We have food, fun and games. All in all a pretty good day at work. I will have to stay after the picnic (noon till 5) so I can finish my work and maybe stop by after the golf tourny tomorrow but oh well.
Today is fun and I've been sweating like a mofo. I played volleyball, lost, and managed to scrape myself on the concert sidewalk way out of bounds while trying to save the ball. I failed. For those of you who never played any sort of sport. Scrapes suck only when you lose you never know if you win.
We have these giant baby bouncer thingies with bungee cords and look like a blast, but I'm too big, disappointing.
There is a raffle at the end of the day for prizes , so far the coolest prize I have seen is the Nintendo Wii system, that is baking in its box... in the sun. If I remember right most electronics like that do not care for temperatures above 120,and its currently 100 so whoever wins that will have a 50/50 shot of it working at all. God let it be me.
Well that is all the cool down/ updating times I have.
Later.
Edit: So its 4 now and the party is over. Back to work... well in about 40 minutes. Stupid tests.
I didn't win the Wii, or the ipod touch, or the 42" Plasma TV?!? Seriously!!! It was a prize. Joe in R&D won it.
Oh well. |

| loading the wagons or where Harley shits in my car |
[May. 25th, 2009|01:24 pm] |
We just got back from Junction City, the closest/only open U-Haul rental in the area, and are eating some sandwiches drinking some water and getting ready to start loading the truck. I wish we could have picked up the truck sooner, but then again I'm happy that we were actually able to get a truck on Memorial Day.
With any luck we will have the truck loaded in an hour, the apartment cleaned shortly after that and able to hit the road around 3-4. Then get to lawrence around 6-ish and unload the truck, where I am not entirely sure. At this point I think the garage would be the best place that way we can still live in the house. So Sarah if you see this before or after we get there let me know what you think.
Well I'm done with lunch and need to start loading.
I heart moving.

"Bacon salt is a zero calorie, zero fat, vegetarian and kosher seasoning that makes everything taste like bacon" - http://www.baconsalt.com/
Bacon Salt!, That is right I said it Bacon Salt. Which can be found at most grocers, for the Lawrence crowd it can be found at all four Dillon's. Two men, that I can only assume, are on a mission from God to make everything taste like bacon. If you poke around their website you will find a plethora of bacon salt flavors, however the most interesting products I think are the Bacon Lip Balm, or the ever impressive Baconnaise. That is right bacon flavor mayo.

[Mar. 27th, 2009|01:59 pm] |
Don't order the meatloaf at MacCalisters, unless you want to try the fun new weightloss program I have found. So far I have lost 3.5lbs, Craig says its not the right way to go but I looks so damn cute this skinny.
Vomiting for 6 hours really takes a toll on your lower back.
Icy/Hot is appearently too hot for me and my skin looks like and feels like its been scaled with boiling water.
Ginger Ale is ok at best.
EDIT:: Ok, so I feel really hung over and I have offically lost 7 pounds! I know the weight will return once I start eatting again, but still its somehting... right? |

Hit the coffee machine twice this morning and think about how much easier it should be to sleep tonight.
I miss being a heavy sleeper, when did this change? |

I found this yesterday and I think the rest of you would get a kick out of it, its the Midwest Teen Sex Show! No its not a bunch of teens from the midwest and voyeur cam for your entertainment. It is sex information brought to you in a mild kids in the hall kind of way. Its not really sex ed, but it is informative and really funny.
You can check them out on itunes or at their website http://midwestteensexshow.com or find them with preferred web browser.
Either way I think you will laugh.
have fun. |

Couldn't sleep last night. Woke up every couple of hours. At 3:30 I found out our neighbors (well at least the one that shares my wall) is a screamer, good for her. At 6 I found out that I still didn't want to be awake and at 8:30 after the phone rang I decided maybe its asign and I should just get out of bed. Well time to find some food and figure out what to do today.
Peace. |

| I have been around, just quiet. |
[Mar. 13th, 2009|07:31 am] |
So, i haven't posted in a while. Not a ton has been happen with me. I'm pretty boring. I have been working out for the last 7 weeks and have increase my bench press 21%! Which sounds awesome, until I tell you that it is currently 115lbs. My goal is to be at least 155lbs by the end of July. I don't think this is going to be a problem. My ultimate workout goal is to be able to do pull-ups without the counter weight assistance, deep down I want to be Jason Statham.
My biggest failure is the cardio sessions. I'm suppose to be doing 5 sessions a week at least 20-30mins a day and I have not. Last week it was two times (The days I didn't lift) and this week it has been zero. I was using the excuse of I'm so tired after the weights I'm useless on the treadmill, well that is not true anymore so I can't use it anymore. This week I used the fact that I had a tooth removed and I need the time to recover so I didn't run on Thursday like I was suppose to.
The truth is I hate running. I have always hated running. Well wait that is not true. I hate jogging. I like running. I use to love sprints. I loved to surprise everyone with actually how fast I am. But jogging, on the treadmill or anywhere, is absolute pain. I hate jogging for a couple of reasons, first being I suck at it. I know right? How can you possibly suck at jogging? You just go at a comfortible pace for an extended period of time untill you feel you have met whatever criteria you made for the day. Well I suck at it becasue I have no stamina. Here is were I get the most frustrated. If I walk on the treadmill its at 4mph, if I jog at a pace I can keep for about 2 minutes its at 5.5-6mph and I feel like I'm tripping over my own feet, and if I jog a a pace were I feel comfortable with my gait its at 7 to 8mph ( I can't do this one for more than a minute.) So this is where I get the most frustrated I can either walk and feel like I have wasted my time althought my heart rate is where it should be and I sweat a little bit or I can be frustrated with my self for not being about to lope along at 6mph for more than a minute. I realize that this takes time and I have a lot to lose before I can actually start feeling good about this again but its still really frustrating.
The other reasons I hate jogging is I can not turn off my brain and zone out. I'm 100% aware of everything! Even with music( although I think headphones would help) But every step I take I'm 100% in the "now" moment. I wish I could just shut down and leave while my body ran its self stupid. Maybe its a form of Zen meditation either way, I can't do it.
The last reason I hate running is the "runners high". The people who have claimed to meet this euphoric state are almost always the avaid runners, half to full marathons a week are no problem for these people while I struglle and gasp for air after climbing the three stories to see my wife. I have never, ever, had a runners high. In college I ran two miles everyday and got nothing. I tell them this and there response is to run more, longer, faster. So now I look at it like this, the runners high is your bodies response to your emanate death. Its your body flooding your brain with serotonin so that when you die you die with a smile on your face. If you listen to accounts of the near death experiances they talk about a euphoric wave over coming them and all pain leaving their bodies. This sounds exactlly like the runners high to me AND to top it off that marathon running has a history of killing the people who try this sport I think its a far comparison. Or I could be just bitter that I have never found running to give you a high.
In other news I had a blast with dinner over at skajester and the_lucky_nun house. It was asweome to see everyone and to get out of the house. I think I need to get out of the house more often. I also know I say that everytime. So I will actually work on that from now on. Well I have wasted enough of my day talking here so I need to get back to work. I will work on exercising, running, and getting out of the house more. I think these things are good things to work on.
Peace.
